Risk-taking for Life: Exploring the Challenges of Racial Integration in the US Public School System

·         Using Process Drama, my colleague Sarah Simmons and I challenged the participants to discuss the questions or racial prejudice and systemic racism in the US public policies.
·         We presented the piece at Risking Innovation, the joint educational conference of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE) and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE)   http://www.aate.com/

The Third Child – Theatre in Education as a Forum for Global Citizenship
·         In collaboration with Kelli Bragdon, Caitlin Skinner, Sarah Simmons, I presented a Theatre in Education project titled The Third Child to 4th and 5th grade students in PS 15 in Brooklyn, NY.

The workshop was designed to support elementary English language arts and social studies curricula. It challenged the students to think critically about citizenship and it explored complex global issues of poverty and democratic freedom. The narrative was based on a book by M. Peterson Haddix, Among the Hidden.
·

Further, we presented the Theatre in Education piece in two educational conferences in 2010:
